JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

JOB TITLE:  Court Reporter position #21101023
POSITION LOCATION:   1st Judicial District, Helena MT
POSITION STATUS/SCHEDULE:  Full-time, Monday – Friday
SALARY AND GRADE LEVEL: Grade 17, $17.20/hour plus transcript fees
JOB POSTING STATUS: External

SPECIAL INFORMATION:

Court reporters with their own equipment may retain transcript fees.  Successful applicant will be subject to a criminal background check.

An employee new to the Judicial Branch will serve a one-year probationary period.

POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position performs highly responsible technical work as the official court reporter for District Court Judge Jim Reynolds. The court reporter attends court, captures a verbatim record of court proceedings using approved equipment and provides transcripts in accordance with rules of court, state statutes, legal guidelines and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Thorough knowledge of court procedures, English grammar, punctuation and legal terminology and court reporting equipment. Graduation from high school and an approved court reporter program is required. Experience as an official reporter in a courtroom setting is preferred.

Job Opening - Snohomish County Officialship - Job Opening

Snohomish County has an "immediate" opening for an experienced official court reporter. Daily realtime is a requirement.

The County provides medical and dental benefits, paid vacation, and 11 paid holidays per year.

RPR and CRR preferred.

Third District Court is seeking a certified shorthand reporter who is proficient in computer-aided transcription, has a working knowledge of CIC (computer integrated courtroom) and is real time capable. This is a full-time position with overtime occasionally required. All equipment and supplies are provided by the state including state-of-the-art writers, computers, and software.

POSITION LOCATED: Third District Court, Salt Lake City, UT. Assignment involves working in a pooling arrangement with other court reporters.

STEPS/SALARY RANGE: Negotiable, based upon skill certification and experience.
CIC proficient: $40,778.64 (min) - $52,032.96 (mid)
CRR Certification: $45,434.88 (min) - $56,438.64 (mid)
